@coquihalla1 By the way, A DS was much more simple than today’s bagged cars to fix. A simple welded t-tube could be used as a hydraulics distributor. But there were two major issues about hydraulic pump and misadjusted spheres
If Europe continued to make cars like these today…they wouldn’t be in the financial trouble thry’re in now. My mom owned a DS21 with the inset lights and two independent frogs eye lights. I prefer this model above. This vehicle went beyond the pale of comparison. It wasn’t just luxury but luxury personified. Was it complicated and finicky to fix? You bet it was. But anything that advanced is going to have some issues. This guy still owns one…he’s one lucky bastard!
@Tinfoilstar2 Hey, Citroen actually only returned to South Africa in 2001 with the Xantia for a short period, then the C- series started, first the horrible first C5′s then the much better C4 C3 C2 then the C1. There is a big Citroen “family” here in South Africa!!
We all love our old “real” citroens!!
Cheers

Thank you for a great, video, your car really looks perfect!!
fantastic… thanx for sharing. I was a little boy when I for the first time saw a DS… these rare and wonderful cars were not an every-day site in my part of the world… So, I promised myself that one day i too will have a Citroen. When the chance came I bought a GS Club and later a GS X2 when i was a student. By then Citroen left South Africa and became part of the PSA group. Citroen only returned to SA in the 1990s… and im NOT impressed with what they have become in the meantime…
@jeje6868 Merci!
